They will keep charging you the month after you cancel. No one will inform you about that. It’s in the fine print of course. I was told the reason behind the policy is that it takes thirty days to stop a bank draft…obviously that is a lie. Not a great look from what is supposed to be a Christian organization. I’m sure that’s probably what they are told to say as this appears to be a common complaint. I was only temporarily cancelling my membership until later this year. Now I will be cancelling permanently.

Life guard was flat out rude. My daughter and I were playing a game in the shallow end where I pretended I was a shark and was chasing her. My full attention on her and no more than 6 ft from her, and she was easily standing with her head well above water. He yelled at us that I needed to be within literal arms length and wouldn't even listen to me try to tell him what was going on. Other life guards there have been great, but this guy needs to learn the difference between the letter of the law and the intent of the law.

From people who have been to the Downtown Y, I understand we are considered "the stepchild". Not having ever been there, I have nothing to compare it to. Comparing visiting a Y in Milford, Michigan, our locker rooms aren't as nice. BUT our staff is much more friendly.

We have enjoyed going to the YMCA almost weekly (sometimes two or three times a week) since joining last May, coming up on a year! I love having the different options of work out classes and my young boys enjoy the child watch while I work out! We also have taken advantage of the pool, with swim lesson evenings to be a family outing to swim together before and after the lessons - while my husband works out in the fitness area! There's something for the whole family!

You can’t ask for much more from YMCA than this place offers. The staff is always very friendly the machines of the day they’re constantly remodeling. They have an outside playground two different indoor pools and tons of weights and basketball courts. I guess the only thing about the basketball court like any basketball court now is basically a pickle ball court so that’s fun
